NO. 18 E.D. WHITE CATHOLIC 3,
NO. 15 LEESVILLE 2 (GIRLS)
At Leesville, the Lady Cardinals (10-10 overall) extended their first-round playoff winning streak to 10 years after Carlie Sternfels made the match-winning goal in the second half.
“The girls played hard,” Lady Cardinals coach Don Grabert said. “They really wanted to keep that streak going, especially the seniors. They gave a really good effort, probably one of the better efforts of the year.”
The match was tied at 1 after the first half, and Mallory Marse and Allie Falgout also each scored goals for the Lady Cardinals.
Savannah Ellis got the victory in goal for E.D. White, which will travel to face Teurlings Catholic in the second round.
A date and time on that match has not yet been agreed on, but it must be played by Wednesday.
