EDW beats Morgan City

E.D. White Catholic’s boys and girls tennis teams won their season-opening matches over Morgan City on Thursday.
The boys team beat Morgan City, 3-1, while the girls team defeated Morgan City, 4-0.
In boys singles, E.D. White’s Benton Troxclair defeated Morgan City’s Alex Tran, 6-1, 6-4, while EDW’s Patrick Roth lost to John Pontiff, 3-6. 6-4 (10-4). In boys doubles, EDW’s Quentin Landry and Spencer Mire defeated Dustin Breaux and John Henry, 6-4, 6-0 and the Cardinals Christian Bernard and Hunter Falcon beat Jude Johnson and Brendan Cloutier, 6-2, 6-1.
In girls singles, EDW’s Alex Donner and Morgan Berthelot were victorious. Donner beat Ellie Cabera, 6-4, 1-6 (10-5) and Berthelot defeated Savannah Loupe, 6-0, 6-2. In girls doubles, EDW’s Natalie Bernard and Lauren Badeaux beat Amber Colbert and Ashley Cavalier, 6-0, 6-0 and the Lady Cardinals Megan Monier and Mary Walton defeated Destiny Scully and Jamie Scioneaux, 6-0, 6-0.
