Lady Braves fall in finals

H.L. Bourgeois' volleyball team finished a runner-up of the silver division at the Country Day tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Braves picked up wins over Northlake Christian, Ponchatoula, O.P. Walker and Northshore (semifinals) to advance to the tournament finals.

H.L. Bourgeois (26-8 overall) fell short of a championship by losing to Ursuline in the finals. The Lady Braves also lost to Cabrini in the pool play portion, bringing its overall tournament record to 4-2.

Vandebilt Catholic (16-15) also participated at the Country Day tournament on Friday, beating Ponchatoula but losing to Cabrini and Archbishop Chappelle.
