Thibodaux falls to White Castle at the buzzer

The Thibodaux Tigers lost on a buzzer-beater to White Castle in Tuesday's winner's bracket game at the White Castle Tournament.

The Tigers (1-1 overall) led 52-51 with seconds remaining when White Castle got a half-court shot to fall as the game ended for a 53-52 win.

The loss puts the Tigers in today's third-place game against Brusly at 5:30 p.m.

Thibodaux's Trevon Cole finished with 23 points, while Tylor Jones and Notron Nora scored 12 points each for the Tigers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

THIBODAUX 67, MORGAN CITY 24

At Thibodaux, in a battle of Lady Tigers, Thibodaux had a little more fight in them.

The Lady Tigers from Thibodaux cruised in a season-opening 67-24 win over the Lady Tigers from Morgan City on Tuesday.

Chelsie Brown and Elise Plaisance led Thibodaux (1-0) with 11 points each, while Joycelyn Daggs added 10.

CABRINI 46, SOUTH LAFOURCHE 33

At Dominican Tournament, South Lafourche remained winless after a 13-point loss to Cabrini on Tuesday.

The Lady Tarpons (0-2) were led by Fallon Chiasson who scored 11 points in the defeat.

GIRLS SOCCER

ACADIANA 3, TERREBONNE 1

At Houma, Terrebonne fell to 1-4 overall on the season with the loss to Acadiana on Tuesday.

Terrebonne's lone goal came off a header by Joelie Cantrelle that was set up by Halle Bergeron.

Madeline Adams played in goal for the Lady Tigers.
