Central Lafourche roll past Tarpons, 7-1


The Central Lafourche boys soccer team kept rolling past District 7-I competition on Tuesday night at Trojans Stadium in Mathews.

With a 7-1 victory over South Lafourche on a muddy field, the Trojans improved to 10-1-3 overall and 7-0 in district play.

Colby Chauvin led the Trojans with two goals and two assists and Devin Foret added a pair of goals as well.

Trey Arabie, Jazziel Munoz and Tyler Ougel each added a goal for Central Lafourche, and Forest Verdin got the win in goal and had three saves.

CENTRAL LAFOURCHE 4, SOUTH LAFOURCHE 1 (GIRLS)

At Mathews, the Lady Trojans upped their District 7-I record to 4-3, and Alexis Monfra got the victory in goal.

The match was tied at 1 at halftime, and Central Lafourche got a goal each from Kristen Falgout, Katelyn Falgout, Chelsie Grabert and Jordan Robichaux in the victory.

MATCHES RAINED OUT

The rest of the local prep soccer slate scheduled for Tuesday was rained out.

The only matches that have been rescheduled so far are the E.D. White Catholic at Ellender boys and girls District 8-II matches, which will be played today at South Terrebonne Memorial Stadium in Bourg (girls at 5 p.m. boys to follow) and the Thibodaux at Westgate boys and girls District 7-I matches.

The Thibodaux boys will play at Westgate at 11 a.m. Saturday, and the Thibodaux girls will play at Westgate at 5 p.m. on Jan. 24.

Other boys and girls matches postponed on Tuesday were Terrebonne at H.L. Bourgeois (District 7-I) and Vandebilt Catholic at Morgan City (District 8-II). Makeup dates for those matches will be determined and announced at a later time.
