Assumption tops EDW in boys and girls tennis

The Assumption High boys and girls tennis teams picked up nondistrict wins over E.D. White Catholic at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux on Tuesday.

Both teams won, 3-2.

In boys singles, the Mustangs (4-0) got a singles win from Austin Leonard (6-3, 6-3) and the Cardinals got a singles win from Joshua Sundaram (6-0, 6-0).

In boys doubles, Assumption’s Grant Comeaux and Spencer Adolph (7-5, 6-1) and Chase Hinton and Chance Landry (6-0, 6-2) each picked up victories, and E.D. White’s Christian Benard and John Stafford won for E.D. White (6-4, 4-6, 10-3)

In girls singles, the Lady Mustangs (3-1) got a victory from Danielle LeBlanc (6-1, 6-1) and the Lady Cardinals got a win from Alex Donner (6-5, 6-2)

In girls doubles, Assumption got wins from Amber Simoneaux and Carly Boudreaux (6-1, 6-4) and Kelsey Gros and Whitney Vernon (3-6, 6-0, 10-8) and E.D. White got a win from Aimee Brien and Megan Waguespack (6-3, 6-2).
