Ellender wins alumni game

Ellender defeated South Terrebonne, 14-7, in the Gridiron Alumni game held at Thibodaux High on Friday.

It is the second straight year Ellender has defeated South Terrebonne in the Alumni Game, which gives former high school football players a chance to recapture their glory days on the football field.

Gridiron Football will host another game when South Lafourche plays Central Lafourche at 6 p.m. Saturday. The game will feature former high school football players from each of the schools.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students with an ID. Children 5 and under get in free.

A portion of the proceeds go to the host schools and since 2010, $150,000 has been raised for charities through Gridiron Alumni football.
