Lady Terriers knock off Assumption, 11-1

Assumption took an early lead, but Vandebilt Catholic scored 11 straight runs to roll to a 11-1 victory in Thursday’s District 8-4A softball game in Houma.
After the Lady Mustangs to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Terriers scored eight runs in the first inning and added three more in the fourth inning to get the victory in five innings.
Vandebilt (16-5 overall, 6-0 in district) increased its winning streak to nine straight games, and it also clinched at least a share of the district title with only two remaining 8-4A games against Morgan City (Tuesday) and Ellender (April 4).
