Most Swampand games rained out Thursday

Most of the first day of the Swampland Baseball League season was rained out on Thursday. In the only game played, South Terrebonne beat Assumption, 9-6.

Rained forced the postponement of the Thibodaux (Reeco Rental) at Terrebonne game on Thursday night. Terrebonne was leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning when rain forced the game to be stopped.

The game could be finished at the end of the season, but no date has been determined.

It also forced the postponement of the Patterson at H.L. Bourgeois game with Patterson leading 2-0 with one out in the top of the fifth inning. That game will be competed on Wednesday, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

It also forced the postponement of the Berwick (Taco Bell) at Covenant Christian Academy (Trinity Tools) game, which was in the second inning. No date has been set for a makeup.

Also, the Vandebilt Catholic (Robichaux Ford) at Central Lafourche (Jester’s Court) and E.D. White Catholic (Synergy Bank) at Morgan City (Skipper’s Sporting Goods) games scheduled for Thursday night will instead be played on June 19, and no date has been set for the South Lafourche (Bayou Boys) at Central Catholic (Halimar Shipyard) game that was also set for Thursday.

South Terrebonne (South Louisiana Bank) will play at South Lafourche (Bayou Boys) at 7 tonight in a game that was scheduled for next week.
