The Louisiana Bayou Flames Elite were eliminated from the AAU national boys basketball championship tournament on Wednesday in Orlando, Fla.
The Bayou Flames advanced to the elite eight of Division II eighth-grade boys classic tournament, but they suffered a 51-31 loss to the Alabama Premier.
Bayou Flames coach Travis Ward said it was a great run for his team at the tournament.
“We had a good run for a team that has been together four months,” Ward said. “Next year they should come back stronger, more experience and hungry for another run at a successful season.”
The L.T. Rockets’ eighth-grade team will play its final game of the tournament at 10:40 this morning against the Tab Spurs. The Rockets will finish 12th place overall at the tournament with a win, but a loss would drop them to 16th place.
The Rockets picked up a 49-31 win over the Winchester Rising Stars on Wednesday, getting 14 points from Ron’Kaz Alvis and 10 points each from Dequarius James and Cornelius Washington.
