Braves to hold joint practices

The H.L. Bourgeois football team will partner up with the Westside Braves youth football organization on Wednesday.

The Braves will hold their team practices at H.L. Bourgeois' practice field from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, and the Westside Braves will practice immediately after.

The Westside Braves, a youth non-profit organization with over 125 kids from ages 7-13, are led by Shawn Dupre. H.L. Bourgeois is guided by first-year coach Daron Franklin, who has reached out to youth organizations such as the Westside Braves and the Bayou Titans football organizations this year.

Organizers say the joint practices will help the Braves reach out to the community and allow their players to pass on tips to younger football players.
