H.L. BOURGEOIS AT ELLENDER

Last week’s results: H.L. Bourgeois lost to South Terrebonne, 24-20; Ellender defeated Madison Prep, 40-14.

Notes: The Braves, under Franklin in his first season at the school, are coming off two close losses after a 3-point loss to Terrebonne in the jamboree and a 4-point loss to South Terrebonne last week in game in which the Braves led with under 3 minutes to play ... Johnson rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries last week, and Turner added 206 all-purpose yards and had three scores for the Patriots ... The game can be heard on 1490-AM.    

SOUTH LAFOURCHE AT SOUTH PLAQUEMINES

Notes: Granier is a Vanderbilt commitment and Wilson is a Tulane commitment ... The Tarpons scored in double figures in every game last season before being shut out by Landry-Walker last week ... Both teams fell in the first round of the playoffs last season, the Tarpons in Class 5A and the Hurricanes in Class 1A ... The game can be heard on 100.3-FM. 

J.S. CLARK AT CENTRAL LAFOURCHE

Notes: Gray ran for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the Trojans win last week ... Menard got his first win with the Trojans last week ... Clark gave up four touchdown passes in its loss to Northlake Christian.

ST. MARTINVILLE AT ASSUMPTION

7 p.m. Friday at Mustangs Stadium in Napoleonville (nondistrict game).

Notes: St. Martinville is running a spread offense after running a Wing-T last season ... The Tigers also have eight defensive starters back off a team that went 6-6 last season and made the second round of the Class 4A playoffs ... Assumption beat St. Martinville 37-20 in the first round of the 2011 Class 4A playoffs in Napoleonville.

E.D. WHITE CATHOLIC AT ST. JAMES

Last week’s results: E.D. White lost to Vandebilt Catholic, 27-9; St. James lost to West St. John, 35-7.

Notes: E.D. White played rival Vandebilt Catholic to a 3-3 halftime tie last week, but had 13 penalties for 161 yards in the game ... St. James, under the leadership of Jenkis in his first year at the school, was without three senior starters last week who were suspended for the game for violations of unspecified team rules ... Charles led the Cardinals with 46 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown against Vandebilt. 

WHITE CASTLE AT COVENANT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

7 p.m. Friday at Nicholls State’s John L. Guidry Stadium in Thibodaux (nondistrict game).

Notes: The Warriors scored a touchdown on their first drive of the game last week, but allowed 328 yards rushing and seven touchdowns the rest of the game ... Authement led Houma Christian with 79 yards rushing on 12 carries ... Lafayette Christian is competing in its first season as a full-fledged member of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association.
