Bayou Bandits Volleyball Club seeks players


The Bayou Bandits Volleyball Club, a non-profit organization consisting of female volleyball players from 8 to 18 years old (grades third-12th), will soon start preparations for its season, which starts in January.



Any girl wanting to play volleyball is eligible to join and prior volleyball experience or knowledge for younger players is not necessary. The coaching staff will consist of Chip Didier, Peter Verret, Craig Hamner, Alan Knight and other high school coaches and staff members.



All age groups will play in approximately five or six tournaments from January to April. Skill assessments, team placements, practice and tryouts will be held at Central Lafourche High School on Nov. 17. The times are from 12:30-2:30 p.m. for the 10U, 12U, 13U and 14U age groups, and 2:30-4 p.m. for the 15U, 16U, 17U, and 18U age groups.



A fee of $50 will be charged for players to participate in assessment/placement/practice.



Team practices will start Jan. 5 at Central, Lafourche. The times are Noon-2 p.m. for the 10U to 13U age groups and 2-4 p.m. for the 15U to 18U age groups. A schedule of practices and tournaments will be given at the January startup.

Bayou Bandits will not interfere with any sports at respective schools. A fee will be charged for each player of every age group.
