Lady Warriors defeat South Lafourche

GALLIANO -- Houma Christian’s volleyball team improved its record to 11-8 overall after a nondistrict win over South Lafourche on Monday.

The Lady Warriors grabbed a 25-15, 25-15, 26-24 victory.

Kira Coleman led Houma Christian with nine kills, while other leaders were Amy Bonvillain (five kills), Alisia Johnson (four kills), Madelyn Carlos (15 assists and six aces) and Jordan Hall and Amy Bonvillain and Cameron Beal with six digs each.

South Lafourche’s record fell to 6-17 overall.


At Gray, Covenant Christian picked up a 25-10, 25-10, 25-14 nondistrict volleyball win over Si Academy on Monday.

Leaders for the Lady Lions (9-7 overall) were Kelsey Bourg (three aces, 15 assists), Taylor Bourgeois (10 aces), Naomi Trujillo (eight aces, 11 kills) and Gabby McCorkel (five aces).
