Vandebilt wins outright District 6-II title

Vandebilt Catholic’s volleyball team wrapped up the outright District 6-II title with a 25-5, 25-9, 25-7 victory over South Lafourche on Thursday.
The win improved Vandebilt’s record this season to 20-16 overall and 7-1 in district.
Sydney Lerille led Vandebilt with 10 kills and two blocks, and Taylor Boudreaux added seven kills.
Other leaders for the Lady Terriers were Erin Crane with two blocks and four aces, Jeanne Harson with two blocks and Sarah LeBouef and Peyton Liner with six digs.
Vandebilt, which is led by first-year coach Sam Schexnayder, honored its senior players during the match. The seniors were Lerille, Crane, LeBouef, Liner and manager Katelynn Songe.
The Lady Tarpons fell to 5-24 and 0-8 in district.
